Kinusaiga Robin at Flo's Circle

£30.00

Saturday 12th December
2.15–4.45pm
Flo’s Circle Pop Up, Fareham Shopping Centre
£30 – all materials included

Join us for a festive Saturday afternoon creating your own Robin Kinusaiga artwork – a beautiful fabric picture made using a traditional Japanese technique sometimes known as ‘no-sew patchwork’.

Instead of sewing, we’ll use small pieces of patterned and textured fabric, carefully tucking them into a prepared design to gradually build our rather lovely Christmas robin.

I’ll guide you through the whole process step by step, from choosing your fabrics and cutting your pieces to tucking everything neatly into place. There’ll be plenty of different fabrics to play with, so although we’ll all be working from the same robin design, no two are likely to end up quite the same.

You don’t need any previous experience – or any sewing skills whatsoever. No needles, no sewing machines and no need to pretend you know what a bobbin is.

What to expect:

  • Step-by-step guidance throughout

  • All fabrics, tools and materials provided

  • Learn the basics of the Japanese art of Kinusaiga

  • Plenty of colours, patterns and textures to choose from

  • Create your own finished Christmas robin artwork to take home

  • A relaxed 2½ hours of cutting, tucking, chatting and getting quietly festive

By the end of the workshop, you’ll leave with your own fabric Christmas robin artwork – something a little different to bring out each Christmas or give as a handmade gift. Although after spending two and a half hours making it, giving it away is entirely optional.

Come on your own or bring a friend. Complete beginners are very welcome.
