Friday 5th June: 1.15-2.30pm

Explore the ideas of perspective and layering with this three-tiered approach to a Van Gogh inspired landscape. We’ll be using acrylic paints in the famous expressionist style of Starry Night to construct our pieces. 

Friday 12th June 1.15-2.30pm

We’ll be drawing inspiration from the colourful cityscapes of Hundertwasser this week, in a ‘Choose Your Own Adventure’ style session. We’ll be working with sharpies, oil pastel and watercolour to complete our cityscapes. 

Friday 19th June 1.15-2.30pm

This week, we’ll be looking to Picasso for inspiration, using a collage technique to construct portraits that rely on distorting perspective and proportion. We’ll use our collage to help us to sketch out an original portrait, before painting using brightly coloured acrylics. 

Friday 26th June 1.15-2.30pm

Yayoi Kusama will be our inspiration this week. We’ll draw upon her distinctive dot pattern style to help us create a field of fungi. We’ll be using watercolour washes and acrylic pen detail for this piece. 

Friday 3rd July 1.15-2.30pm

This week, we’ll be looking at the Cubism movement and creating our own pieces of Cubist art work. We’ll take inspiration from flora and fauna to construct our composition before practising our oil pastel blending to add colour to our designs. 

Friday 10th July 1.15-2.30pm

We’ll look to the art of Reggie Laurent this week. We’ll be creating collage pieces in his signature style, before exploring pattern and line work to bring the artwork together.
